Weekend With Ms. Lana

from HELP by Felted Fruit

/

lyrics

I was the chauffeur, she was the star. In the cream back seat of that glossy black car. In the award gown she floated in one perfect take from a house they would use in the movies she makes. When she found out I knew Tony so well; “only the best in the business! The jewel in the crown”
She told Mr. Dean she was painting the town, she was revealing to me that she was mine. She was the goblet, I was the mouth, then I was the church and she was the mouse. In that downpour that lasted for hours, we were in some hotel that had lost all it’s power. I think Mr. Dean and Mrs. Reneé were hip to the love we had put in to play. I said “It’s alright, we were bound to decay.” Ms. Lana flew back on the stormy Monday.
We knew the score and the conductor too! And when knuckles met jaw, it was long overdue. This forbidden love only drives you so far. I was the chauffeur and she was the star.
